Michelle Obama influence the fashion industry

The First Lady, Michelle Obama, is a multi talented lady who participates in many ventures throughout the nation including charity work. However, it’s her influence on the fashion industry that she’s received the most recent praises for. Obama, who is considered very knowledgeable in fashion, has made many small fashion businesses and designers more popular and has even given a boost to the industry.

Obama’s fashion choices are chronicled almost on a daily basis as many within the industry and the media wait to see what she will wear next whether it’s for a huge event or just daily wear. Many critics believe Obama has a message behind everything she wears. However, the First Lady just tells everyone to wear whatever you love and doesn’t focus on any specific message.

Michelle’s popularity within the fashion industry stems from what her fashion team chooses for her. Apparently her team chooses from lesser known designers that are only known by inner circles within the industry.

Obama’s nearly two hundred appearances from 2008 through 2009 raised over 2.7 billion dollars in revenue for 29 different fashion designers just because she wore their clothing and the masses went out and bought similar clothing that Obama wore. Some fashion companies saw their stock rise over 25% during that same period.

Obama might not have a future in politics once her husband is done with his presidential term, but she definitely has a future in the fashion industry. Michelle is definitely a hot commodity in this industry and will be for years to come.
